I saw this coming a year ago but why the F*** wasn't I asked about it??? Yea, I left the site for a while but you knew how to contact me Jarrod and you know that I would of put up my own money, in a heartbeat, to keep this site alive. I thought all the work I did as Co-Admin, much of it in your absences, would of made me the prime candidate...not to mention that as the 2nd oldest person (in age) on the site...and the most likely to afford something like this.
Are you sure about that marcum?

Change the channel anyone?

Can someone just confirm that this is true with some proper proof?

I was contacted, AE was contacted. He didn't want change, so he wasn't offering it to admins that are already settled into their positions. Like he said as well, with the changes may be coming to the staff, he probably didn't want to offer it to someone who was may at some point be removed from staff.
But offer it to SI's most controversial member, got it lol.

It's apparent it's a joke between Marcum, AE, Yanks, and jarrod.
And until I see some proof otherwise this is my mindset.

Exactly, because by now Jarrod would have explained the situation in the staff lounge to the other Admins, all of which appear pretty pissed off about this apparent change in ownership.

I'm trying to speak on behalf of him, because he's busy. That's why he's selling the site. He doesn't have the time to be here anymore.

sheed told me he seen this website that shows how much a site is worth, it estimated SI worth about 30 grand.

So unless Yanks came up with that kind of money, no way in hell jarrod sold this site lol.
Unless jarrod had no idea it's worth 30 grand.

There's no way this site is worth $30,000 and if it is... I want some money. LOL

Yah IDK about that either lol.
We just checked another site and it said 3k, which is much more reasonable lmao. But still, lot of money.

His job requires the computer. Just because he is on here doesn't mean he has the time to do anything. If you check, I'm usually on here all day because I don't close my browser.

I understand what you're saying Marcum and from your perspective it seems logical that you would be the one reaching out since J is too busy. But unfortunately situations like this are what hurt sites, and a lot of times it leads to the inevitable disbanding of the members and staff. Let me give you a first-hand experience of a similar situation:

About 3 1/2 months ago I was a co-admin of a former affiliate of SI's (RST). While I hadn't been an admin for too long, the admins were basically me, and 2 other guys. 1 of them was acting as head-admin and the other was more of the technical side. The actual owner of the site at one point, while the site was losing activity, brought up to us the idea of merging to another site, and left it up to the staff. The staff voted it down, saying we wanted more time to try and get things back on track and we felt things were headed in the right direction, that it would just take some more time for it to happen. About a week later, out of the blue, the owner (not part of the 3 admins) decided to merge the site to a forum that none of us liked. About two days, the other two admins and two of their friends split the money to start up their own sports forum. The owner of RST who merged us, ended up leaving that site as well (PSA) and joined a guy I know at VirtualSportsNetwork and became staff there.

I understand your trying to settle things, but my point is that J should have brought this up to the staff recently. It's a different scenario, i know. Its just a change in ownership, not change in server/host, or w/e. But he should have notified the admins ahead of time and gotten their opinion on this. Maybe they would have stepped up, or w/e. And in all honesty, I don't care if Yanks outbid AE (if he even was aware of this), sometimes you go with the bidder who you feel is best experienced and mature to run the forum, to take the reigns, to take what you created and held onto for numerous years, and to keep it going and in the proper direction. In no way am I saying Yanks isn't capable of this, but there are guys we KNOW have the experience and financial ability to take over and run SI. That is the big issue....

and unfortunately if this whole change in ownership is true, if guys like Rip and AE were not given the opportunity to purchase the ownership, then I am sorry to say I have lost a lot of respect for Jarrod. He's a great guy and knows his stuff, and is incredibly knowledgeable, but I would never expect him to basically betray his own admins and former admins and HoF guys by not even giving them the opportunity to purchase the ownership rights.

that's my 2 cents.

Well it's not just him, there are other admins and former admins who could have stepped up financially and be more reliable based on past experience with them as administrators or SI or other sites.

I agree with what you are saying gmf. It should have been brought up to more people. I don't know the numbers, but considering Yanks has a lot more money than a lot of us to spare (from what I hear), he may have made an unrefusable offer, and Jarrod took it blindly.

IDK if you guys would have liked the idea but me and Rip talked about if he was offered a bid for SI me and him would have went in on it and tried to buy it, but he was never contacted. I also find it VERY hard to understand why Jarrod wouldn't post all of this in the staff lounge first and let the staff know whats going on and at least let the staff members who wanted to bid, bid. I mean if the staff members got elected to a staff position, then they should have the right to bid, right? I also would like to know where everyone is hearing that Yanks has money, and is rich...?
