We will be starting our 5th annual SI player rankings.  Last year we only go to the SF position, but I'm quite determined to get the rankings completely finished this year.

Don't be afraid to share your opinion, whether it's a popular one or not.  We will once again be going 10 spots deep at all 5 positions.

Please remember these two things, please vote on the polls and vote for the best player, don't be a homer.  Most of the polls will be open 24 hours, but if the first place vote getter gets 5 or more votes than the second vote getter than I will close the thread if I'm around. Nola and I will be guys running the polls in order to try to get this done this time around.

Remember, this is based on who is currently the best player, not who has the potential to be the best.  Who would you take today?

Can I request we either hide the pinned topics or at least unpin them while the polls are actually going on? It's annoying to have the most recent poll not at the top, plus all the results are in this thread anyways :p

I think he'd be a better option than Rose. Rose was pretty meh last season.

I honestly don't see why anyone would take Rose. He was very meh last year. Just people living in the past again I suppose, can't say I'm surprised.

I still can't justify taking Rose. Done nothing the last two + years to justify going top 10.

He averaged 20-7-5 in the playoffs which makes me think if he can stay healthy for a season he can regain his top form. Maybe not MVP level, but still a very good PG when healthy

I wouldn't be surprised if Rose regains form next season, but going off we know I find it hard to believe he's a top ten PG.

I mean he was super inefficient (76th percentile for all PG's), his passing was really poor (92nd percentile), he turned the ball over a lot (71st percentile), had the 48th lowest assist to turnover ratio of the 49 eligible PG's (98th percentile), and he wasn't bad defensively but he certainly wasn't good either.

So to recap:
Efficinecy- 76th percentile
Passing- 92nd percentile
Turnovers- 71st percentile
Ast/TO- 98th percentile

If he was never the MVP Derrick Rose would anyone have voted for him to be a top 10 PG? I doubt it.

I don't think anybody is arguing that statistically he was a top 10 point guard this season though

Because when he's healthy he's a top ten PG in this league?

"who is currently the best player"

Like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if he regained more from next season, but based off of what we know, there is no way he's a top 10 PG right now.

Did you not watch the playoffs? He wasn't even 100% then and he definitely looked like a top 10 PG there
