From:RealGM & The L.A. Times
Immediate speculation had the Lakers filling the extra roster spot with unsigned free agent Chris Webber, although a Lakers official quickly downplayed such a scenario unless another post player went down for an extended period of time. (Kwame Brown is out indefinitely because of a sprained left knee.)

Webber, 34, averaged 11.2 points and 7.2 rebounds in 61 games last season for Philadelphia and Detroit.

I think it would be a pretty good pick up for the Lakers

That'd be a good pickup by the Lakers.

Im not a big fan of Webber being a main scoring option for any team. He has to rely on smarts now, and IMO he isnt very good at it.

It would be a good pick-up if he was brought in to be a role player, thats why he fit in Detroit so well.

I'll be honest C-Webb will be a great fit in LAL. He is a passing PF and helps create a threat down low to. Him and Kobe could do some big things you know. Both of them want a CHAMPIONSHIP. He could definately mold this team with the other vetrans like Lamar Odom and Derek Fisher.

I don't thinkl the lakers need much help with scoring when Kobe is putting up 30+ almost every night

Exactly DJT. He is still the best FA available and you can say he is still one of the top F-C in the game still. Any team should consider him if you have a spare spot available.

I agree.
If he starts they could put Lamar at SF then C-Webb at PF then Bynum at C.
Or they could have Ariza at SF Lamar at PF and C-webb at C.

It would work out really well plus he could also help Bynum get better.

And yes any team would get better if they signed him(I just don't want to see the Pistons sign him)

Heck yea, and if he would have 2 100% healthy knees he'd probably still get 20 and 10, but he doesn't anymore, so he could probably still bring 10 and 10 and 4 (assists).

He would help the Lakers more then he could help a team like the Pistons.

Well if the Pistons wanted to they could get him and he could help out Amir and Maxiell and teach them alot of things, plus he would put up better #s then both guys as of right now, because Amir and Maxiell just haven't caught on yet.

The lineup would AMAZE me if it was like this:

C - Andrew Bynum
PF - Chris Webber
SF - Lamar Odom
SG- Kobe Bryant
PG - Derek Fisher

Another team that would be sick with Webber is the Magic.
