Neither really have a choice.. They're restricted free agents after their rookie contract is up

i hate the restricted FA

i go back to Mo Will
he was a heat. plain and simple. they even gave him a replica ring after they won the title
he didnt want to go back to milwaukee, but he had too because they matched
same with Gortat. he didnt want to go back to orlando and be a backup, he wanted to go to dallas, but couldnt

Restricted Free Agency is the only thing right now that keeps a little bit of league parity going.. Without it everyone is going to big markets or attractable destinations.

a RFA situation i cant wait to see is Russell Westbrook
he's going to want the max, i dont know if OKC will offer it, some team will offer him a load, and we'll see if they match

and if they do match, what next? they will be handcuffed

I think OKC will offer it to him. Him and Durant are everything on that team. They will try their hardest to keep both guys around.

Well, this year they've been a lot better.

And who do you think Melo would rather play with?
Raymond Felton
Amar'e Stoudemire

or
Rip Hamilton
Chauncey Billups

not to mention the Knicks will still have some young players and draft picks to improve, whereas the Nets would just be... ugh...
I'd rather play with Chauncey, Rip, and Brook Lopez than Felton and Amar'e, just my opinion though

Amar'e has been doing very well. Lopez has been struggling this year. Felton has been having his career best season. Chauncey is doing decent. And Rip is having a down year as well.

i hope russell leaves

lol off topic ftw

marc stein just posted stuff on twitter

Strong fresh sign Nets/Nuggets still working toward Melo deal: I'm told Nuggets took/made calls TUES on what they can get for Devin Harris
At worst Nuggets want to know Devin Harris' value before agreeing to trade. Some would say Nuggets operating like they EXPECT to get Harris
Blazers clear favorite to get Harris if they make Batum available to DEN after months of resisting Batum offers. See @CSheridanESPN for more
More teams will emerge (like Mavs' ongoing interest in DH reunion we hit on MON) if Harris lands in DEN, where Ty Lawson is PG of future
Thought since DEN/NJ got close on four-team deal in SEPT that first step is a fully agreed-to-trade. Only THEN will we get real Melo answer

youd rather play with them now. i wouldnt want anything to do with billups and rip next season. i actually wouldnt wanna play with them now, either. i wouldnt wanna play for a depleted nets team, at all.

Lopez is struggling a bit, yes, but he's still a good player. The open looks Rip would be getting with Melo there would be ridiculous.

under almost no circumstance would i want to go to the Nets
Brooklyn helps, but not much

i'd much rather play with the Knicks.
but it all comes down to the extension.
we'll see what he wants. knicks, or money

Knicks have more upside than the nets
but only if he goes via FA which i dont think he wants to do. he wants that extension

lots more. and depending on the deal they may have more depth. well, either way they would have more depth. and the team as a whole is already way better.

melo should just say "yea ill sign an extension" get the deal done and go to nj and then not sign. nothing wrong with that. lololololol

wherever melo goes, he's going to be amazing
personally, i think he's better than Durant, and getting a new start is going to refresh him like crazy

actually, i only feel this way with the knicks. he'll kick ass
