Anyone care to explain why?

Plus it would completely eliminate tanking
Because what rookie would sign up to play in Cleveland, Memphis, Charlotte, Sacramento, etc?

It's the worst idea ever.

I kind of see the jkidd comparison with lonzo. Doesnt care about scoring, but will if the situation is right

At least i get why people say it. Dont want to slander jkidd. An all timer

Good times when abosox compared him to Jimmer or Jamal Murray

Im not sold on lonzo yet. Need to watch more but i do like his demeanor so far

The hype needs to stop though. If i hear he's 6-0 in scrimmages one more time lol

But youre 100% using hindsight in your argument against Bennett. Even if he wouldnt get a rookie max, he would get probably 4-5x the amount that Giannis would earn in the same class. Nobody would be paying top dollar for him, and then you have the same situation for him as real life.

It seems like your entire purpose of the lack of a draft is to get higher wages for rookies. And again as I said earlier, it only applies to the first few draftees of the class. Giannis wouldnt get paid shit coming out of the draft, nor would any project player like Paul George. And youd have guys like Jahlil Okafor with giant contracts on the scale of a Mozgov deal despite being awful in the NBA

there are other ways to get rookies more money (although I disagree that its needed, knowing none of the other major sports do that). this way is dumb

This isn't about getting rookies more money, it's about creating a fairer system that de-incentivizes tanking and rewards smart management rather than incompetence. And it's not hindsight to say Bennett would get a rookie max, everyone knew that rookie class was weak, most rookie maxes would be spent on guys like Wiggins, KAT, AD etc. I think a team would be willing to throw a $1.5-3M a year contract on rookie projects (Giannis made <$9 over 4 years).

Wiggins (drafted a year after Giannis) earned approximately 3x what Giannis did over the course of their rookie contracts so I don't really see what point you could be making about Bennett possibly earning 4-5x more than Giannis and how that would be good/bad.

I'm excited to see Kevin Love as a feature player. Him and LeBron in a two man game should be pretty lethal

The market will sort itself out, guys like Davis or KAT would get that kind of contract because they deserve it
