Well it's fine if you just want them to solidify themselves as big league pitchers and get them familiar with how to deal with that. The thing with Feliz is now he has been used exclusively as their big time closer, and has done a damn good job at it.

It's similar to Papelbon's first couple years with Boston.

Neither of them were stud pitching prospects.

Pitching in the bullpen just changes so much of what made them highly regarded SP prospects. They eliminate pitches from their arsenal that they no longer need in the bullpen and train themselves to basically go all out on every pitch because they're not saving themselves for anything.
Feliz has had 2 great seasons, he's not a prospect either

the Rangers have shown they have a track record, so if they feel it's time to move him, i can live with it

i really like what they did
Nathan was expensive, but if healthy he could close games
and i always felt Feliz should be starting

Before Neftali was a reliever in the MLB, he was a top 5 prospect as a SP...

it's not like they're moving him mid-season to the roto

they'll be working with him all off-season, he was a starter in the minors like you said anyways
he'll be fine

if i trust any team to do this, it's the Rangers

and i still am kinda confused why you bring up the fact he was a top prospect. who cares? that was 2 years ago? maybe im misreading

I said that I didn't like the idea of bringing up pitchers who were stud SP prospects, converting them to relievers, and then converting them back to starters later in their careers.

It's what the Yankees did with Joba and essentially Hughes and we all see how that turned out.

who cares if they were a top prospect though. Ogando and Wilson werent top prospects, but they were really good relievers

the rangers have a good history of doing it

the Dodgers have a great history of developing pitchers and they do this too. start in the minors, call up and relieve, then eventually start again

yanks just did it wrong

The Yankees just completely mismanaged the situations.. It can work, you just have to commit to it fully.

Did you read any of my posts in this thread? I already explained my reasoning behind not liking the idea, other than it not working out with Joba and Hughes.

it's just a little issue i have with what you're saying
being a top prospect shouldn't matter

dont worry, it's stupid lol

but if anyone should get the benefit of the bout, it's the rangers
they know what they're doing

I'm a little concerned about how Texas is handling the situation. Feliz has never even pitched 130 innings in a whole season in his pro career. I'd be very careful with him.

i didnt post the mets changes

no more black drop shadow and no more black hats/undershirts on the road.
still have the black alternate, but it'll be gone in 2013 and replaced with a blue one

looks great

mariners also brought this back

Looks similar to what the Mets had in the 60s and 70s. Fine with me, excited about the blue alternate that they will have, sounds like a good idea.

If Hughes returns to 2010 form that's really not a bad rotation, but there's no way we end this off-season without upgrading the pitching staff.
