Raiders have had the best off season so far out of any team. IDC how much Al Davis overpaid. THe contracts are all backloaded and its not like players like Javon Walker will be here all 6 years. Plus, its not my money so idc. lol

DeAngelo Hall + Nnamdi Asomugha = best DB duo in the league.
Huff will move to his REAL position at FS and make plays with the signing of SS Gibril Wilson.
The rest have been nice signings that fill in our needs.
Should be a bounce back season for Oakland I hope...

Yea, and they got a high draft pick, so that should help them a bunch.

the DBs for Oakland are good, but I think Denver's and Philly's CB duo are better.

Philly even rivals Oakland for best DBs with Samuel, Lito, Shelden, and Dawkins

Lito will probably be traded on draft day for a pick or player. I'll take Oaklands over Phillys. Raiders are young and make more plays.

What does Denver have besides Champ?
As far I'm concerned, Champ (not always, but occasionally) gets burned a lot by receivers.

Nnamdi Asomugha is the best "shut down" corner in the game. I think most would agree. Asante Samuel is a play making CB. Philly is nice but teams should think twice about passing against OAK. We were 1st in pass defense in 06 and that was just with Scrabble.

We are 10 times better and should try to duplicate that season as far as pass D goes.

Def. disagree, Champ will come back from injury of last season so he won't get beat as often

I disagree that Asomugha is best shut down in game - by a LOT...
week 1 - McDonald over 90, 2 others over 50yds
week 2 - both Walker & Marshall 80+yds, no one on OAK over 40
week 3 - both Edwars & Winslow 80+yds(yes Winslow TE)
week 4 - none over 80 (but it was Miami)
week 6 - great job on SD (but they didn't have to pass when LT has 198 yds)
week 7 - Bowe over 80
week 8 - great game against TEN (but still lost)

so half the time he does well, but what stud WR is on Mia, KC, SD, or TEN (none)... he has lots of potential, but to say the best right now is laughable right now

i wasn't talking about just pass defense, but as a whole -- unfortunately, OAK can't tackle worth a flip - reason for them losing so many games - Gibril should def help with that
