They aren't changing it. But it's a Perfect Game, and will always be one in Tigers fans eyes for many years to come.
Isn't this kind of like when a fielder makes an error and ruins a perfect game? Only this time, it was an official, which is worse

They should worry about installing a soft cap before they bring instant replay. And improve revenue sharing...

It can only be used on homerun calls.

Also I feel for Joyce. I don't agree with the call, and he did miss it, but if he calls it the other way, he would still be getting crap for it. What a horrible situation to be in.

Also Joyce and Galarraga both handled the post game stuff perfectly.

Oh well, nothing we can do about it now. We all know he did it, he didn't get awarded for it and hopefully it never happens again. It's tough to have something like that taken away but it is what it is. Life goes on, the game goes on and hopefully we have the opportunity to see it happen the right way next time. I'm very proud of the way the Tigers have handled it, it's time for the fans such as myself to act as such and move on as hard as it is, I will never forget it. If Galarraga can accept it, we can.

Bud Selig is officially not reversing it. Oh well. Everyone knows it was a perfect game. Like I saw in an article though, he will be more famous and remembered in the years to come for being robbed of the game and the controversy around it than he will be for getting it.

Lol @ cheato for continuing to criticize what I say.

Nothing I've said was directed towards you, so I don't understand why you feel obligated to give me these sarcastic asshole remarks. Just shut the hell up. You would feel like <Censored> if this was your team.

Selig was damned if he reversed it and damned if he didn't. He did the right thing here; painful as it may seem. Reversing this decision would have opened a huge cane of worms for the game. It was easier to just let this one pass.

But reversing the call in this situation easily would be the right thing to do. It was clear he was out, the evidence was there, he even said that the game should of ended differently. So why can he not just make it official.

The whole situation is just beyond ridiculous.

let it pass, it was clearly the worst decision since he called of that tie game on that all star game

Exactly. Baseball fans aren't just going to let this pass.
Him and Joyce will be remembered for this.

How many people remember that Kenny Rogers (a good pitcher) pitched a perfecto? How many will remember Braden? There are a few more that nobody remembers and nobody will remember.. This incident will help Galarraga be remembered for at least a generation.. It sucks, but everyone knows he did it and it'll get him more attention this way.

Could of reversed the call, that way he gets his name in the record books and he is remembered for this whole situation.

You really can't reverse a call when there is no rule for it.. The play is not reviewable, and you certainly can't go back in time and erase an out bat from the #1 hitter... I thought about this a bunch today, and figured that there was no way that you can go back and change it. If we all be reasonable, you'll see it isn't plausible.

Good will come out of it, though. There will most certainly be much more attention paid to umpires, something that has already been discussed. Perhaps younger, more talented umpires are in the future. Reward good umpires, punish/fire bad ones. Perhaps instant replay in extenuating circumstances (but what defines that? where do you draw the line?)
