He's coming back at age 38 and on a minor league deal. Rox could use another power bat and rumor has it they're done trading. I had my hopes set on Hanley but apparently Hanley is content to sit back and collect his fat, Red Sox checks.
I don't know what Moose's numbers look like this season, offhand, but neither Thames or Braun have been able to stay healthy at 1B this season. Brett Maverick Phillips going to KC and I'll say that he will be missed here in Colorado Springs, home of Milwaukee's Triple A affiliate.
ERA over 10 in his last 5 starts, but given the minimal return and cash considerations, it's worth a shot. I figured this would happen in 2018; teams all looking for that old veteran renaissance the Astros found in Verlander last season. Hamels is no Verlander but I agree he's much better suited...
A couple of TJ surgeries but Eovaldi knows the division very well. Beeks has future stud status though. Won't be long and we'll see him lighting up hitters from the bullpen in Tampa. Red Sox are clearly in "win now" mode though and they need rotation depth in the worst way. Pomeranz is trash...
Great trade for the Yanks. Betances has been better as of late but the Robertson-Betances-Chapman 3-headed monster has been anything but this season. They actually got over more with Kahnle last postseason.
Best be locking up Manny now. Rox will let DJ walk after season's end and start working on a new deal for Nolan. Not a big money franchise but they're trying to be as competitive as possible. I'm certainly no insider but feels like Nolan will spend most of his career in Denver.
Buck Showalter on Machado: "He's the kind of kid you'd want your daughter walking through the door with."
That's pretty high praise coming from a guy like Buck. And so far, the Dodgers have had nothing but positives for Machado. He doesn't conduct himself like an A-Rod; that's for sure.
