The Machado trade was apparently done days before it was announced. Thinking they held off on signing along the dotted lines because of All-Star Game eligibility. Either way, the trade came at the right time for the Dodgers. Justin Turner is still having groin issues and likely going back to the DL.
The DH will come to the NL by 2020. Read not long ago that Tony Clark already has the Player's Union doing their homework. And if you think about it, why wouldn't the MLBPA want it? Pitchers don't get paid any more because they can bunt or hit, but there's a ton of big bats that are limited to...
This is gut-wrenching news for football fans. The guy was only 56 and apparently was evaluated for chest pains over the weekend. Wife found him on the kitchen floor before church this morning.
Same calendar day as Denny Green's death too. RIP Tony.
Dodgers slaughtering the Brew Crew today, FML. Rockies just have to keep pace for right now. This is going to be a very interesting trade deadline. Expect a lot of arms to move.
Manny wanted to play SS because of the money. His plate metrics give him an easy case to be the highest paid SS in all of baseball. But I'm sure the Dodgers' fat wallet can convince him to move his ass back to 3B where he belongs.
The Red Sox are having a historic first 2/3 of the season because of Mookie Betts, but they would still be a playoff contender w/o him. Mookie had a "meh" season at the dish in 2017 and the Sox still won the AL East.
The Angels would easily be the worst team in baseball if Mike Trout plays...
I'm saying Trout has the WAR advantage because he plays CF and Mookie doesn't. Trout has also proven well beyond 1 & 2/3 of a season that he's better than Mookie Betts.
Mookie Betts is easily one of the best players in baseball, but Mike Trout is on another planet. Consider the monster season Mookie is having in 2018 is basically every season for Trout. Love watching both guys play.
RF at Fenway being more difficult that RF at other ballparks has nothing to do with CF'ers getting a baseline boost to their WAR b/c, in general, CF is the most difficult position to play in the OF.
Machado batting 2nd and playing SS. Can't say I dislike the move for the Dodgers, although they're going to have to part with Verdugo if they plan to bolster their roto. And they will NEED to add another starter if they expect to get back to the WS. Regardless, can't see why Machado doesn't sign...
See more of this exact situation play out across the league. The old school approaches of guys like Matheny aren't meshing well with younger generations of players. Heard a lot about Norris hazing Hicks and Matheny did take issue with it like he should have. In 2018, I don't think journeyman...
He probably should. Dude was outright giving up on plays last season. Hate to see legacy's tarnish a bit when players stay on the field longer than they probably should. Time flies though. Seems like not long ago his big holdout with the Jets was playing out on Hard Knocks.
Training camps are about to open up and not a minute too soon. Leave it to the NFL and MSM to move that black cloud, anthem issue right back over our heads. In any event, I can't be the only one antsy for football to come back into my life.
sorry to bump, but my two cents:
Love that they brought back "Flatirons Red" and got rid of the baby blue, but there's too much white in the home set. More red and could've done a better job with the number font. Collar looks weird too. Mile High set look okay, but seems everyone wants to rip...
Glad they are (by all accounts) bringing back the drop shadows, but I'm not a fan of the old school, rounded collars. Also dislike striping that doesn't go all the way around arm holes.
