Personally I think he'd be in Golden State if they offered him full control, but I could be wrong.

My guess with Van Gundy is that he'll move Monroe and put Smith at PF.
I would trade our 1st and salary fill (Bradley S&T, Bogans) for Monroe if our pick isn't Top 3

Also, yall sometimes shit on my analytics, but Detroit fans should get used to it because SVG is one of the biggest analytic coaches in the league.

Was watching a THTV video on ESPN, and the guy basically said that SVG is the best coach in the league aside from Gregg Popovich.

Thoughts?

I was kind of thinking about it the other day, where has this idea that Van Gundy is an elite coach came from? From what I remember he was a good coach, but I didn't ever think that highly of him, to the point where I thought he was one of the best.

Who's better though? I'd say Carlisle is. Doc probably is too.
But other than that, I can't really think of any. You might say Spo cause of the rings but I wouldn't go there.

I never thought he was that good at all. I'm pretty sure he was part of the reason Dwight left too.

Out of the active coaches in the NBA, Pop, Carlisle, Doc, & Thibs are undisputedly better coaches. Then you have the Vogel/Spo/Brooks group of coaches, where you don't know if they are good because of their rosters, or because they are actually good coaches. And then you have the young up and coming coaches, Stevens/Hornacek, who did really well with not great rosters.

I'd put SVG probably at #6, behind Spo and those 4. But you can definitely argue that he's #10 as well.

Forgot about Thibs.
Yeah I'd put him at #5. Honestly feel he's better than that second tier you named.
