Obviously hindsight is 20/20 and all.

Hypothetical: If the New Orleans Hornets knew the production the members of the 2012 NBA Draft would get, would they have drafted Damian Lillard over Anthony Davis?

Remember, the Hornets had two picks, where with the second, they foolishly picked Austin Rivers. By picking Lillard, Hornets could have picked up a big like Henson or Sullinger instead, or decided to go for a BPA type player.

The Hornets are on pace for another Top 5 pick in the NBA Draft, with a need at PG. But the 2013 is not PG strong, at all. 2013 is big man strong, however, with Zeller, Len, Noel, and Austin being viable bigmen who could go Top 10.

Obviously drafting Anthony Davis wasn't a bad decision. He's a stud, and will be very good in the future as well. But Damian is looking pretty damn fine as well

I'm looking at the way Vasquez is playing and thinking no, but it is definitely true that Austin Rivers had no business in the NBA draft in the first place, certainly not as a high pick, anyway.

No. Other than the fact that Davis is still better, Lillard is like 8 years older.

Well, he's not even three years older than Davis, so that's a tough sell on age being a real factor. Both are studs. Both teams are better off.

No.

Anthony Davis was the right pick and will be considered a better player than Lillard when both of their careers are finished.

I wouldn't say PG is no longer a need for the Hornets, Vazquez really isn't that good, don't think you're winning a ring with him at point.

I view Greivis the same way I view Jermon Bushrod for the Saints. Could he be upgraded? Sure, I'd like the team to upgrade him if they could.

But it's not a need right now.

right now they dont have a need for a pg, and really they might not for a few years. grev isnt playing bad and may be able to keep developing and get better.

as for this, no. you dont pass up on a big man of his talent, ever.

PGs are a dime a dozen these days. The Hornets made the correct pick.

Yeah I think the Hornets made the right choice. I think Davis is going to go on to have a HOF career honestly, whereas Lillard just a multiple ASG type player.

But the Saints are actually a good team, so the comparison fails.

If you go into the draft, and the best available player is a PG, he should be taken even with Vasquez in the fold. Not to say that scenario will actually happen this year.

Comparison has to do with players, not teams.

I had no idea Vasquez was averting 9 assists a game this year. Dang lol.

No because he's a "one trick pony".

*evil smile*

He's playing better than I ever imagined he would. I think I said he would average 12 and 7.

I liked him coming out of college, nice to see him playing at a pretty high level.

If LT was the #2 need, then yes they would upgrade then if opportunity presents itself.

PG is the #2 need, so if they can upgrade it, they should

Yes it is because you don't know Anthony Davis's future position, if it is C or PF, so you can't draft one unless you draft a tweener

sf is more of a #1 need at this point. prior to the draft you could've said any position but sg.
