Brock Lesnar reportedly won’t be at Money in the Bank, either

The Beast Incarnate’s next Universal Championship defense might be farther away than we thought...

Reports, and the limits of what seems reasonable - even in a scripted environment where one man has final say and millions of fans go along with it, even as many of them complain noisily, pointed to Brock Lesnar facing someone at June 17’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view (PPV). Whether that was Roman Reigns or Braun Strowman allegedly hadn’t been decided yet. If it would be the last appearance Lesnar made before returning to UFC probably depended on Brock’s mood and his negotiations with Vince McMahon and Dana White.
Now, it might not even be happening. At least according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio:

“Lesnar is not wrestling at the Money In The Bank PPV, for what it’s worth. I don’t know when he’s going to wrestle again. I thought it would make sense after the Greatest Royal Rumble because obviously, he’s going to wrestle again that would be the show but in fact it’s not the show.
So he’s doing another show. He might have agreed to do a deal until SummerSlam. Or maybe the July show, but he’s not on this one.”
Even if he’s decided not to re-enter the USADA testing pool for a return to the Octagon, unless Lesnar is embarking on a Bruno Sammartino-like run with belt, you have to think he’ll make an appearance at July’s Extreme Rules show or SummerSlam to drop the Universal Title.
But we don’t even know when he’ll next be on Raw (he’s not advertised for the European tour, so it won’t be next Monday), and no one can agree on what the specifics are of whatever deal he’s currently got worked out with Vince.
So we’ll wait. And enjoy Seth Rollins’ Intercontinental Championship Open Challenge series.
