If Beverley is better than they'll start him instead. Lawson in the 2nd unit is better than Nick Johnson by 10000%
this is how i look at it

They replaced JASON TERRY with ty lawson and gave up nothing to get him

Its a win

Nola can talk fit all he wants. Its an upgrade
Ty does not even have to start

Lawson will start every game he plays in. That isn't even worth discussing.

Ty Lawson has agreed to make the final season of his contract with non-guaranteed as part of the Houston Rockets' trade for him.

The agreement gives the Rockets flexibility to keep Lawson for the 16-17 season at his current salary.

With Lawson in rehab for alcohol abuse, the non-guaranteed season gives the Rockets peace of mind should another issue arise.

I fail to see how acquiring ty Lawson for nothing is a bad trade

These guys had horrible depth last year at pg. When bev went down it got ugly. Terry played his heart out tho

And now the last year isnt guaranteed so if it doesnt work no harm done

Great trade

No ine said it was bad

But excuse me for reading into your posts

Of course he is better, but this league has proven time and time again that fit and continuity win out. Lawson may be an upgrade on paper, but if he doesn't fit that roster the team will be worse.

There's numerous reasons to question how he will fit, offensively and defensively. I don't think he will be a bad fit, but this isn't a home run for them fit wise. There are better PG's out there to put next to Harden.

That's not what I'm referring to. They could have easily waited until the deadline or next offseason when pretty much everyone has max space.
But none of this is the point, we are talking about fit. I don't think it's a great fit, I'm honestly not even sure if Lawson is a better fit than Beverley.

Also easy to assume they could've traded for Gary Trent and Felipe Lopez and you would've thought it benefited them

I don't think anyone is saying they shouldn't have done the deal. I just don't think it helps that much

^thats exactly what I'm saying, I don't think adding Lawson moves the needle. I don't think this move pushes them from 56 wins to 60+ wins.

The thing with ty and james
Yes they both need the ball

But james hasnt had a gjy who can het his own since westbrook

Like ive said, lin has been his best ball handling guard since houston

Lawson can get his shot and is a WILLING passer
As is james

It'll work

Two players that suck and are overrated on the same team may cause problems

I'm not sure what's funnier, the notion that James Harden sucks or the notion that Ty Lawson, a forgotten about player in Denver, is somehow overrated.
