Yea, I agree now. If your not going to take a pay cut after being so horrible, then you deserve to be released. Its not like hes dieing for that money to feed his family. I think in part he also wants to be released by the Raiders and go to a better team.

Ryan Leaf is still way worse, believe it or not.

Tony Mandarich may be the biggest bust of all time ahead of Leaf.

Linemen, especially offensive, are usually easy to dissect, QB's are a little, well a lot harder.

I don't blame the dude

He sucks but we've only seen the Oakland JaMarcus Russell. What if he was on a team with 1-2 decent receivers and an OL that could stop a wind gust?

Maybe Alex Smith should go to a real team as well.

Shut the <Censored> up talking about Alex Smith when the dude wins more games in one season than JaMarcASS Russell will win in his career

Jesus, Alex Smith is getting a better OL and has good enough receivers to succeed this season. He could lead them to the playoffs.

You guys place too much emphasis on the QB like he can do it on his own...its a team sport for a reason...

Sorry, but he's now too old believe it or not. Unlike Kurt Warner, who played in Europe and the Arena League, Russell doesn't have the work ethic to do either.

Warner busted his ass and worked up the ladder, Russell was handed all of this and just pissed it away. I hope no team takes him.

He doesn't deserve another chance.

Had he gone to the off-season workouts, this topic wouldn't exist.

He's lazy...ok

Ben Roethlisberger is a sexual assaulter, he should be behind bars rather than on a field

But we're still watching this dude play...so why not let this lazy ass dude play

Why should we just give the man a job when he doesn't want to work for it?

There's a difference between going to work an loafing around, and going to work and making a true effort.

Apparently if he's in the NFL actually DOING things, he's working for it
I'm not saying to never let him play. I'm saying if he's lazing around and not going to off-season workouts, that's not trying to me. So I'm not just going to give him jack squat until he shows me some commitment.

Then again, who cares, I'm not an owner/GM, it's only my opinion

He was born with some natural talent, and he has coasted on that through College. But once he got to the NFL he founded out that it wasn't enough, and he has yet to put in any effort towards it. If you don't work towards getting a job, you don't deserve it.
