ESPN - According to a report from ESPN's John Clayton, the Raiders are preparing to cut JaMarcus Russell. A decision has essentially been made and the timing is the only thing yet to be determined. Oakland acquired Jason Campbell on Saturday, leaving Russell third on the depth chart behind Bruce Gradkowski.

Biggest bust of all-time in my opinion.

Ryan Leaf was at least good for three games.

Yupp. Have to move on from probably the biggest draft mistake in history. Takes a long time to recover from this big of an investment.

I've never seen someone struggle to complete a pass in the NFL like him...

In his defense, teams rush the hell out of him.

Looking at the numbers, he wasn't that bad in 2008.

198-for-368, 13 TD, 8 INT, 77.1 RAT, and he averaged 7.5 YPC.

So, he isn't worse than Ryan Leaf, but he's pathetic.

Gradkowski seemed to play a hell of a lot better under the same conditions. And he sucked too.

Well, the logic is that QB is more important than a WR. And history has shown that there have been just as many bust WR's as bust QB's. Carlos Rogers anyone?

Well Oakland's system is setting up QBs to fail...thats evident

Watch him go to another team and be just a bomb QB

Or watch him never start an NFL game again and Jason Campbell makes the Pro Bowl this year.

<Censored> my bad, Charles Rogers, lol. I was close with the name, lol. I think that the Raiders shouldnt release him yet, just give him one last chance. It wouldnt hurt and if he is just as horrible this year at the start then release him.

I just think that'd be a distraction. Al Davis would be tempted. Just need to get over this. Plus, he said he won't take a pay cut so he's gone.
