Yikes 27 pitches 17 strikes
And he was ahead of 4 of the 5 batters he faced. Was he pitching scared or just off the edges?

2 for 4. Made a nice play to get Edwin at first on a failed DP started by Holt.

Its never a smooth outing with Kelly.
I hated seeing Joe Kelly before last year. After last year, however, I held some faith in the guy. I still do, he's okay. I don't think he's as bad as they say he is and I believe he will bounce back.

Ideally Vazquez goes in the offseason. His selling point used to be defence, but Leon has outperformed him.

I agree, looks like the bat first prospect finally beat out the defensive specialist prospect. I was pretty high on Swihart as a prospect, good to see him getting some more play.

You're right.  That was all on me, I overreacted, but reverse psychology paid off so I'm glad when I'm wrong about that stuff.

Indians are still legit though.

I don't think he'll be a high sell.

Isn't Swihart not that great on defense?

I'm fine with taking another flyer in exchange for Vazquez. He isn't better than Leon at defence or Swihart at offence, so he has no purpose.

He was pretty good hitting in 2017, just hasn't done so consistently.

Some scouts are saying (from what Ive seen on Twitter) his game calling and throwing from behind the plate have improved measurably. His stick was always his selling point but he didnt really burst on to the scene with that either. Just took some time, patience, and development. And now like ptt said, he looks better than Vazquez.

He was alright. He had a high BABIP so it wasn't likely to be sustained. He also has guaranteed money coming up which is less than ideal (4.2M in 2020 and 6.25M in 2021)

The problem with his bat is that he doesn't play regularly.  if he played everyday his average would be higher.

CF and RF aren't easy, and I'd argue playing LF at Fenway is harder than RF at Yankee Stadium
