Vmart signed for like 70M less didnt he?
He still signed a large contract, and was top 5 in the batting avg race. Signing one guy doesn't = buying a title.

when i say cant buy titles, i was referring to their payroll being the 2nd highest

nobody likes to see these guys sign the big names
nobody was rooting for them except the philly fans
everyone loves seeing these big markets lose, including me

(please dont bring up the dodgers. some big market they are having the fanbase question if they can keep their star player.)

The Phillies have a high payroll because they re-sign their players. They don't mortgage the FA classes, they just trade for everyone.

ok fine
it's still a large payroll
they will recover. they'll be a top team again next year

just teams who cant afford it like my team are jealous and i love seeing them where we are.

i love how they overpay
howard is grossly overpaid
rollins if he stays will be overpaid

great

The Dodgers aren't a small market

Right now when they don't have to make any big free agent decision they are 'small market'.. Try trading two aces and an all-star catcher in a 2 year period because your owner can't afford anyone.

not to mention getting out bid during free agency on players like Thome, Manny and Belle.

lol we're not cleveland

but everyone in baseball has to question if we could keep kemp
ethier may have to be traded
didnt offer arb to odog or wolf in 2009 when they clearly wouldnt accept, because of the threat of arb
couldnt go after CC or Lee or Oswalt via trade
couldnt sign Dunn or Crawford, etc

we arent going to go after prince or pujols or reyes

dodgers fucking suck

Once the Dodgers hit the open market, they are obviously going to get sold to someone with big pockets, so don't get too worried.

kemp is so close to free agency for me not to worry

if the dodgers could get a serious owner, i'll cool it on the buying titles thing lol

even if we have money, i dont want pujols or fielder anyways. i believe in loney.
ok no more dodgers

I hate to jump the gun, but I'm quite happy the Phillies lost. I feel like we can beat any team remaining, not that we will, but have the ability too. I thought the Phillies would beat us though.

Delmon Young left off the ALCS roster.
That's quite a huge loss.

If you're like me and thought there was no way he would continue his home run tear, then it's not a big loss, he's a marginal player.

He still hit well other than the homeruns, and was getting good swings.
