They shouldn't have much of a problem in the Central this year. Just need to get Liriano on track.

They brought in Mark DeRosa, Aubrey Huff, and re-signed Bengie Molina.

San Diego and Torrealba finalized deal today

The terms on Yorvit Torrealba's deal with SD: One-year, $1.25 m. guaranteed. $750,000 base salary for '10, $500,000 buyout on mutual option for 2011, which is for $3.5 million. He reportedly turned down a two-year, $4.5 million deal with the Rockies earlier in the winter.

It was a poor decision and one I am sure he's kicking himself in the ass for now. Torrealbla made the same mistake Johnny Damon and Andy LaRoche made, allowing agents to overvalue them and made unreasonable contract demands. Torrealba can thank his agent for less money per year and then having to play this game all over again next off-season.

I want to know who the hell Russell Branyan's agent is. I recently read that his demands for a deal were 3 years in the $20-$30M range. Now wonder that man is still out of a job.

in his defense he did have a pretty decent season, but yeah that's a ridiculous demand

Sorry to Jays' fans who were praying upon a reunion with Carlos Delgado. I read Sitroupoulus...whatever the hell your new GM's name is....

.......the Toronto Blue Jays are officially done adding Free Agents this off-season, as per his interview with MLB.com today.

Should have kept Carlos the beast Santana and dealt Martin. He gets even more hype these days.

I don't really mind it at all. The Blue Jays have a lot of options at first base or DH.

Cleveland agreed to pay the 2M owed to Blake if the Dodgers gave them a top prospect

owner is a cheap skate, so he told our GM to do it.

That's kind of surprising actually, our owner is as cheap as they come.

Well if the option was to let the Dodgers take on the $2MM and get nothing or pay the $2MM, which was already fit into the team's budget, and get a good prospect in return...I'm always taking the prospect.
