Which team(s) do you think will surprise people with the way they play, and which team do you think will be a disappointment this year?

bulls are going to be depressing, but i think we all kinda expect that. dont get me wrong, im not saying they'll miss the playoffs, i just dont look forward to watching any of their games

I think, due to extremely high expectations, the Nets, Sixers, and Wolves will all disappoint

Jazz and Hawks are who I think will surprise people

If Bynum plays most of the season, the 76ers will finish 2nd in the East.

And thats why I say they will disappoint, because I dont think Bynum can put them past a 4 seed

I think the Hawks are a good choice to surprise. I think getting rid of Joe Johnson could have a Nugget like impact for them. Johnson has a tendency to make offenses come to a halt and dribble out the shot clock then jack up shots late in the possession. With that said, I think the Nets will disappointment. But Johnson won't be the reason.

Nobody expects the Raptors to do anything, but I think they can challenge for seeds 6-8 in the East. Maybe more if they can get really hot for any stretch of time.

I'm a little bias but I'm really liking the Raptors this year for a 6-8 seed. We've got a nice bench this year too. Pretty good depth.

I'm the complete opposite on everyone's surprise teams, Wolves, Raptors, Nuggets, 76ers, think the Wolves and Raptors miss the playoffs by a few seeds and that the Nuggets are more in the 6-8 range while the 6ers are more in the 5 or 6 range.

I mean that's fair, the only thing is you only have one new playoff team in each conference. I'd be interested to know when the last time that happened was.

EDIT: There was only one new team last year fuck me -______-

In every sport I'm always a believer in the more established teams, usually takes me a long time to fully buy into the new "it" teams that everyone is saying is going to shock people.

>nets at #3

lol
I knew someone was going to bring that up. Keep in mind I did say usually, so I do buy into teams that aren't established, just few and far between.

The Nets are pretty different anyway though, that's a team whose core is made up of established veterans and you know what you're going to get from them.

D-Will is gonna get around 18/9, Joe Johnson is gonna get around 18/4/4, Gerald Wallace is gonna get around 13/7 and play really good defense, Hump is gonna get around 10/10, Brook is gonna get around 18/7. Obviously the numbers are going to fluctuate a bit because they're all on the same team but it won't be significant.

i really like that nets team but a shakey bench and scatter health issues could hurt them.
