You have to wonder how much longer this guy is in Tennessee...or even the NFL at that.

QB Vince Young detached from Titans

These days, the most prominent questions about Vince Young are not about his health (The knee's fine, thank you) but about his attitude. Specifically, fans and those in the media keep noticing Young's conduct and body language on the sideline during games. He seems detached. He participates in pregame warm-ups then appears to retreat into his own little world after kickoff. When the offense comes off the field, you see starter Kerry Collins huddling with offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger as they examine photos of the opposing defense that are transmitted from the press box to the sideline. No. 3 quarterback Chris Simms is an interested participant. Young? He's usually found several steps away, uninvolved. He either doesn't want to be part of the process or is not invited. And I seriously doubt it's the latter. This makes a strange situation even stranger. During practice sessions, Young works extensively with the second-team offense. Since returning to good health, he has been listed as the No. 2 quarterback on game day. But even though he is just one snap away from being the Titans' quarterback again, he seems a million miles away during the game. -- Tennessean
To think...this guy was on the cover of Madden a year ago, made the Pro Bowl 2 years ago.

i felt the same way when I got benched last year in Tennis. But I still helped out. I kept track of score, gave advice to the freshmen, cheered on my team, etc. But overall I was pretty upset the 4 or 5 games I sat.

Ive been wondering how he's taken it since he returned. I still dont fully understand what happened when he "snapped"

I hope he returns to his old self, the Titans would be dumb to let him go, I mean how much longer does Collins have?

pretty much he wasnt playing well. Fans booed him, he lost his mentality. Then he got injured, Collins became starter. He contemplated suicide... he wasn't looking great at all. Then Fisher said If We win, we keep Collins. So far they havent lost, and Collins hasn't played bad at all. He's been great in fact. So they stuck with him, and now ever since healing, Vince has been very detatched from the team, and noone knows what the status with this guy is.

If I was Vince I would ask for a trade, I would go to this home town and fight for the start position with Matt in Houston. That's what I would do, or if I was the Titans I would trade Vince for Matt straight up and Matt would be a great addition to the Titans. Titans what another Collins and Matt would be the game he is like 10+ years younger then Collins. That would be a start move the the Titans, then their future would be set.

he's talkin about Matt Schaub in Houston, not Matt Ryan.

He better figure it out sooner or later, because the Titans arent going to wait for him forever. Its just a matter of time and patience. But what does confuse me is his lack of motivation and willingness to learn. If he doesnt want to learn from a veteran like Kerry Collins, its his loss.

my b, missed that. I still dont think that Houston should EVER trade matt schaub. He's been playing very well this year up until his injury.

Matt Schaub hasn't done enough in this league to be considered anything special. He was phenomenal in replacing Mike Vick at times, during his stay with Atlanta, but just not what Houston thought he was going to be since. Atlanta looked like a huge loser after they traded away Schaub & Vick went to jail...time progresses...in steps Matt Ryan & Atlanta's QB situation is much better than Houston's.

Tennessee hasn't given up on VY yet...and I don't expect them to anytime soon. My feeling is that if Vince Young leaves Tennessee it's because he opts to retire from football altogether.

It's a shame though, great Collegiate player, found ways to win as an NFL rookie...just another headcase from the University of Texas.

i didnt say he was special. Im just saying he's done very well this year, if only he hadnt been injured. They we're throwing much more effectively to both their Tight End Owen Daniels and Andre Johnson. Rosenfels hasn't played anything close to that.
To tell ya the truth, I hated Schaub until this year. I felt he was improving a lot, so why trade him for Vince Young?

Because it would be better for Vince's career.

but how does that translate into houstons success? i think vince will stick around tennessee and will heal emotionally over the off-season although you still may not be the #1 qb

exactly, I didnt say why should vince demand a trade, I said why would Houston trade him. their main problem is they cant stick to a Qb because of 2 bad seasons. Well, look at the Giants and Eli. He sucked balls at first, but has improved so much. Give him time, or beat his as because Tennessee needs a young QB to hold on to, Houston doesn't need another QB change.
