10:07am: Infielder Domingo Leyba will also head to the Diamondbacks in the trade, reports Morosi (on Twitter).
Leyba was recently ranked fifth among Detroit farmhands by Baseball America. The 19-year-old switch-hitter played both shortstop and second base between short-season Class-A in the New York Penn League and Class-A in the Midwest League, batting .323/.360/.423 with a pair of homers and a pair of steals in 278 plate appearances. In BA’s scouting report, Ben Badler writes that while Leyba doesn’t have any “dynamic” tools, he’s a fundamentally sound infielder with good bat control and a line-drive stroke that can barrel up against good velocity. Badler noted that he’s probably better suited at second base, but the Tigers did give him a look at short in the season’s final two weeks. MLB.com ranked him eighth among Tigers prospects on its midseason Top 20 list, noting that he has double-digit homer potential once he matures and possesses good strike zone knowledge.
9:39am: Jon Morosi of FOX Sports tweets that the second player heading to Arizona will be an infielder.
9:21am: The Yankees, Diamondbacks and Tigers have completed a three-team trade that will send Didi Gregorius to the Yankees, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (Twitter link).Rosenthal adds that Robbie Ray will indeed go from the Tigers to the Diamondbacks andShane Greene will be heading to the Tigers. WFAN’s Sweeny Murti first reported the potential framework and noted that Greene would head to Detroit if the deal were to be completed. Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic first tweeted that Ray could be headed to Arizona.

Robbie Ray lol

Excited for Greene tho. He'll be a solid back end starter for us.

I'm kinda neutral on this one. Don't really think either side got the upper hand. Like Teags said, Greene's a solid back-end of the rotation arm but nothing more, Didi is probably, at best, a .270 hitter with great defensive skills.

But that team doesn't really need defense right now, they need a bat. Then again, not many other shortstops out there, so at least he's cheap with some upside.
