The Yankees are moving closer to a new contract with general manager Brian Cashman.

They held organizational meetings on Wednesday at their complex in Tampa.

Cashman's new deal, which is believed to be for three years, is "just about" done, according to a baseball official. An announcement could come as soon as next week.
