He has stated that he would "OK" his trade to New York. He won't play tonight, but he should be in the line-up tomorrow.

I wonder if Montero is part of the deal. Jays fans want him badly lol.

No chance. Montero will be one of the best hitters in the league almost immediately after he gets called up. Berkman is unlikely to re-sign with us after the season is over. We gave up a pitcher in Ivan Nova and other prospects.

And if Montero were to get traded he would automatically suck like Austin Jackson after years of Yankee fan hype?

Yankees acquire Austin Kearns from Cleveland also.

Montero is not a part of either deal.

I'm hearing Melancon and Jimmy Paredes (a faster Ramiro Pena when all is said and done) and the Astros will be taking more thank half of his contract... So not bad at all.

Anyway, solid pick ups. Berkman should perform better now that he will be more motivated on a contender (having a down year to his standards) and Kearns will be solid off the bench, can play every OF position and has been hitting with RISP this year.

Berkman is an excellent hitter who did well in Houston and I can see him doing even better with the Yankees. Too bad Jorge is the odd man out here, he is way too old and is really just useful as a DH which Berkman will doing most of. I can see Jorge getting traded or something cuz Montero is ready to hit the majors and take his place.
