The AL MVP will be announced November 21st.
The NL MVP will be announced November 22nd.
But who will the Most Valuable Players be from each league? And who should?
There are some pretty close races in each league. In the NL with Braun and Kemp and in the AL with Verlander against the likes of Bautista, Ellsbury, and Granderson.
Me personally feel that in the AL Jose Bautista will, or at least should win. You can make the debate that Verlander had one of the most successful pitching seasons in recent memory, but in my own belief I can't come to believe that someone who participates in a mere 34 games throughout a whole season of 162 can not be as Valuable as a player who is out their each and every game. Now if it was the year Bob Gibson had then it'd be a different story, but it's not. Jose Bautista put up some pretty gaudy numbers, leading the league in HR, SLG, second in OBP a point behind Cabrera, 100+ RBI, and over a .300 average. He also played solid defense in the outfield.
As for the NL I have to believe it will be Kemp. I mean the guy was 13 points away from the triple crown, the triple fucking crown. Not sure how you can contest against the season he put together.
