The nominations are in and it is time to vote in the center position of SI's all-time team. This thread will be open for 48 hours. Players receive 3 points for a starter vote and 2 point for a back-up vote. The top two will then be placed on the official all-time team.

please vote, discuss, argue, and debate each other in this thread, as this is the official time to vote. If you want to change somebody's mind do it here. I highly encourage you go onto youtube and watch highlight videos of these players and do some research. Here is a good source if you are unfamiliar with some of the old timers: http://www.hoophall.com/

This is going to be an interesting four-man race.

I voted for Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain because they are the two best on this ballot.

Had a hard time deciding on this. I knew I wanted Russell off the board, but couldn't decide on Kareem or Chamberlain.

Meh, I'll vote for Chamberlain, he just flat out DOMINATED. Put up numbers that just make your eyes pop out. Although I know Kareem was just a scoring machine. So really could go either way.

I voted Shaq and Russell... Shaq in his prime was easily the most dominant player ever. Wilt played in a time where player as tall as Jamal Crawford would be guarding him. But Crawford on Shaq and he'd score at least 50 a game too.

Let me remind you that Wilt put up huge numbers against short white guys lol. Still great though

I voted for Hakeem the dream, one of the best C's ever, and he played in an era where he wasn't always the tallest person on the court.

oh c'mon. The average hegiht of a center when Chamberlain played was at least 6-8 or 6-9. And there were a lot of players around the 6-10 and 6-11 range. Yes smaller than today, but still big.

Yea but Bill is the only one who could shut Wilt down on a consistint basis.
And Wilt was just so good.
Kareem is 3rd on my list.

Bill was better than Wilt IMO way better.
I mean how tall was Bill 6'9 maybe 6'10 and how tall was Wilt? And Bill always had the best of Wilt besides I think maybe one season.

Thats my point on why Bill's number 1

go to about 1:55. In the next 10 seconds you will see Jabbar's "Unstoppable" hook shot stopped not once but twice.

I never said it was unstopable
and did you see who blocked it?
arguably one of the best shot blockers of all-time, no?
