The nominations are in and it is time to vote in the shooting guard position of SI's all-time team. This thread will be open for 48 hours. Players receive 3 points for a starter vote and 2 point for a back-up vote. The top two will then be placed on the official all-time team.

please vote, discuss, argue, and debate each other in this thread, as this is the official time to vote. If you want to change somebody's mind do it here. I highly encourage you go onto youtube and watch highlight videos of these players and do some research. Here is a good source if youa re unfamiliar with some of the old timers: http://www.hoophall.com/

Also why we are waiting, the Small Forward nomination thread will be open here: http://www.sportzin.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=25788

I say Kobe and Reggie.
Kobe may be the best and Reggie is the BEST shooter.

Michael Jordan becuase he is the greatest athlete of all-time and won six rings as well as played great defense.

Jerry West as a back-up that can handle the ball and shoot. Although Jordan was clutch, the first three quarters he wasn't a great three point shooter. Jerry West shot the ball from way behind where the arc WOULD HAVE been.

John Starks???? LOL -- not even close, but nice to see someone loves their Knicks..

MJ & Kobe, though #2 spot can be debated on everyone

I don't se ehow you can put kobe on there as a back-up. Kobe may be the next best thing skillwise but he offers the same exact skills as MJ.

How many players careers can be defined by one play?

Answer: The Decent Players that have no business being on this poll.

Kobe is almost exactly like MJ thats why I picked Kobe.
To me Kobe is just a little more clutch and may be the better scorer.

Thats how I feel.
MJ did a lot of things he wouldn't get away with now therfore it wouldn't have happened.

Like the little xover he did when they beat the Jazz he pushed off BAD that would have been an offensive foul now.

Plus Kobe's a better 3pt shooter too.

Yea, cuz every other clutch thing he did was illegal to rgiht.

The flu game, The shot against Cleveland, the shoulder shrug against Portland, the slam dunk contest over Dominique, the pass to Kerr, the UNC shot as a Freshman, the three agaisnt Charolette in the playoffs, How about the turnaroundi nthe 93 nba finals. There is just so many. Not too mention he has twice as many NBA championships lol.

Yep, those were all illegal

I put what I think and thats what I think.
MJ's clutch but I'd still rather have it in Kobe's hand in the end.

And Mj shouldn't have beeten Niqe Niqe was a way better dunker...
But if they did them dunks now they wouldn't come close to winnig so it don't matter...

But are we going to vote for a 6th man too?

Naw, we just vote back-ups for each and then vote for the final two spots.

you must not know that much about John Starks.

He has done WAY more then just that one play, look it up, learn something.

He has done more than one good play but he's known for his two famous dunks.

yea I cant argue with that, but what Sabbath should learn is that even though he may have knowledge about Starks, I KNOW he hasnt followed him throughout his career, so he shouldnt make vauge remarks about his basketball career.

Honestly, I think it urked him for me to bring that one play up, being that he's a Bulls fan.

Jerry "the logo" West and Clyde "the glide" Drexler, Clyde was one of my favorite players back when he was playing.
