The Twins have signed free-agent first baseman/DH Kendrys Morales to a one-year, prorated $12M deal, according to an ESPN.com report.

Morales, who has been in Miami working out while waiting to sign, hit .277 with 23 home runs and 80 RBIs in 156 games with the Mariners last season.

But why? lol

Upgrade over all the player they had at DH this season. Kubel, Pinto Parmalee, Colabello, Willingham lol.

They needed hitting badly. Willingham is on fire ever since he returned but the rest of the team is blahhhh. They are trying to compete for a while in the AL central.

If they're really planning on competing, they'd need more than a 12 million dollar 1 WAR DH. This is not a good investment.

They're only 4 out of the wild card. He's going to help the offense. They need pitching more though. Phil Hughes has bounced back nicely. Has an insane walk right right now.

Only a one year deal.

still though, there are plenty of teams with more talent than them, they may help them offensively, but their pitching will end up failing them.

Looks like Morales has been putting in work already.

I don't like walking away from Kubel so quickly, though. The Twins are a basement AL Central team, regardless of their lineup, because their rotation is the laughingstock of the league.
