Tim Wakefield Will Retire After 19 Seasons

After 19 Major League seasons, including 17 with the Red Sox, knuckleballer Tim Wakefield has decided to retire.

He will hold a 5 p.m. ET news conference on Friday at JetBlue Park, the team's new spring training facility.

Wakefield, 45, will walk away with 186 victories with the Red Sox, just six short of the team record shared by Cy Young and Roger Clemens.

He recorded his 200th career victory late last season
Much respect for the guy eventhough i hate the team he played for.

Tim was a testament that if you lost your fastball, this was another way to revive your career.
