1. Gale Sayers - In my opinion the best running back of all time -- his brief stint in the NFL was good enough to put him in the HoF. Just watch his films, he's a God.

2. Marshall Faulk - Faulk's prime (1998 - 2001), in my opinion, was the best 4-year performance of any offensive football player, ever. During this period (60 games), his stat line read -- 1428 touches | 9010 yards | 6.3 avg | 69 tds.

3. Earl Campbell - Probably one of my favorite players ever -- the video of him getting his jersey ripped makes me jizz in my pants every time I watch it. He was a true beast in his day.

4. Emmitt Smith - A homer pick to be honest -- UF grad and only the second to make it to he HoF.

5. Walter Payton - Have to put him on the list so I don't catch <Censored>.

WTF Barry Sanders only played 8 years and got 14,000 something yards and it smith like 13 years or something like that to break the record. And if barry didnt run back so much he would have broken the record easily in those 8 years. Barry Sanders imo is second behind Brown.

Jim Brown may have been listed at FB, but he carried the ball over 200 times every year in the league... He's a RB... And the best one of all time.

lol Blake's point is TERRIBLE

You made the thread, you posted "runningback". Last time I checked, a fullback IS a runningback...

If you only meant halfbacks then why didn't you put that in the title <_<

Jim Brown is EASILY number one

No -- there is a big difference.

If the NFL Hall of Fame lists you as a runningback, you're a runningback.

If they list you as a fullback, then you're a God damn fullback.

Also, no Sanders -- sorry, I always thought he was overrated.

Also, if you look in my other topics you'll see I never shy away from old Browns love.

This is the first list that doesn't feature a Brown from the 50-60's.

Blake doesnt know what hes talking about, Barry was the greatest RB of all-time without a doubt. No one ran the ball more fluidly and agility than Sanders.

1. Barry Sanders
2. Jim Brown
3. Walter Payton
4. Emmitt Smith
5. Marshall Faulk

Blake does know what hes talking about, Barry was the most overrated RB of all-time without a doubt. No one ran the ball more stupidly and lost more yards than Sanders.
Fix'd.

Also, Jim Brown wasn't a running-back.

Jim Brown is basically a RB lol, don't understand why you're fighting that. There is a reason why he is always brought up in discussions with best RB, never mentioned as a FB.. But Jim Brown is the best runner of all time, i guess.

Runner of all time, yes, easily.

But officially, in the record books and in Canton -- he's listed as a Fullback.
