NFL.com - The Vikings aren't giving him a chance to be their starting quarterback, so Tavaris Jackson is ready to move on.

"It's probably time for a change," Jackson told The Star Tribune.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to play up here the last five years. ... (But) I'm not trying to be a backup. I'm trying to go somewhere where I have a chance, and I don't feel like I'd get that chance here. It's time to move on. No hard feelings or anything. It's a business."

The Vikings drafted Jackson in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft.

"Since Day 1, I don't really think I was really welcome here anyways, because nobody really knew who I was, being from a smaller school," said Jackson. "A lot more things probably play into it, too. It's just the way things are. I can't help that."

I wonder if he really thought he'd be starting somewhere after being blackballed year after year after year by the Vikes

The guy was never that good of a QB, sadly. Huge arm and he had great athletic ability but he had no accuracy to even speak of that it was so damn bad at times for the Vikings. I saw him live against my Colts and fans were just booing T-Jack off the field after drives when he'd miss open wide receivers or make terrible reads.

Which says a ton about a QB..

I always said Vince would flop in the NFL, even when he put the team on his back in the Rose Bowl and shut up USC. His style just wasn't made for the NFL, he loves to scramble too much and his arm really isn't strong enough still to make the necessary throws in the league. I wished the best for him for success but he's been a disappointment to say the least.

Jackson isn't anything special, that's for sure. While he hasn't gotten much of a chance, he just isn't that good. He's got a lot of work to do.

.... If people are saying teams are lined up for Vince Young (Dolphins, Vikings, Eagles, ETC)...

Then you would think Jackson would have a team to go to and have a chance to compete for the starting Job.. as in Seattle or somewhere.

TBH, I think Vince Young is better than T-Jax

You can say what you want about Vince, but he just wins. Tavaris had a team with similar talent to the Titans that he could have easily won games with when he had the chance to play and he didn't get it done.

If I remember correctly, Tjax won like 4 in a row or some shit whenever he was put in. Dude isnt bad, alot of talent there.. and he doesnt have the attitude Vince has. He just wants to play.

He'd start in Arizona, Miami, Cincinatti (assuming Palmer is gone), San Fran, Washington (assuming McNabb is gone), Carolina (for this year, anyway).

There'd be lots of places he'd have a chance, and he'd win a lot of those competitions. Particularly Arizona and Miami.
