Get ready for some false rumor monger accusations.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on NFL Live Monday that the Raiders are the "clear cut favorites" to land Donovan McNabb.

Per Schefter, the Raiders are reportedly not worried about Philadelphia's asking price or the fact McNabb is only signed for one more year. If McNabb landed in Oakland, the Raiders could potentially retain his rights in 2011 with the franchise tag. (Although that could be near $20 million.)

We've heard a lot of different reports and rumors regarding McNabb over the last five days, and Oakland's interest is a theme that runs through many. PFT first reported Nmandi Asomugha's possible inclusion in a trade offer Friday.

Oakland's status as favorites for McNabb has a certain logic to it. Based on everything we've seen from Al Davis over the last five years, this absolutely looks like a move he'd make.

If Al Davis wasn't so damn old, I'm pretty sure he'd still have wet dreams about Donovan McNabb wearing the silver & black. I really can't see how at his age, McNabb makes any sense for Oakland, but when was the last time the Raiders made a personnel decision that made any sense? As a life-long fan of the man, I would be crushed to see his career wind down playing for the biggest joke of an NFL team there is.

Some rival NFL executives already consider new Eagles GM Howie Roseman a "shakedown artist" due to the exorbitant original asking prices on his quarterbacks, according to Yahoo Sports' Michael Silver.

Roseman never seemed likely to deal Kevin Kolb, but the second-round asking price for Michael Vick and the "first-round plus extras" for Donovan McNabb were ludicrous from the outset. The Eagles' first-time GM now appears desperate to move McNabb to any team that will help him save face, even if it means sending the long-time franchise icon to football's version of Siberia with Al Davis. To the surprise of no one, McNabb was a no-show for start of voluntary workouts on Monday.

Only? McNabb is 33 and on the final year of his deal. Now I love McNabb but that situation is nowhere near a top 42 pick in value.
