Vancouver Canucks forward Rick Rypien left the team due to personal reasons and, according to TrueHockey.com's Andy Strickland, he's not expected to return this season -- and perhaps not at all. Strickland writes, "I'm told it is very possible Rypien's days as an NHL player are over. We wish this kid the very best as living a productive life away from hockey is most important."

The 26-year-old enforcer contributed the most last season, playing in 69 games and tallying eight points. Right now, he's officially on an indefinite leave of absence.
Interesting. I didn't even know he had left. Maybe the team didn't like his reaction to that fan in Minnesota? Anyone care to fill me in? I know we have a lot of Nucks fans.
