Logo for my friends company — Rousseau Technology Solutions. He does IT consulting services and wanted to put an emphasis on security in the logo. It's a lock, a puzzle piece, and the letter "r".

The letter R does not come over as such, but it's still nice looking.

Also don't love the shadowing on the lock itself

Btw it's not really necessary for the "r" to be recognized, which is why I mentioned it last. It doesn't really need to be anything more than a "gotcha" that you might catch after seeing the logo a few times. Thanks for the feedback, dudes.

Shadowing, towards the bottoms of each
Gotcha. Yeah, you're right. Just wanted something decent looking to show the logo. If this logo gets approved I'll prob put more time into this mockup.

Giving a bevel to the lock (the blue part) and not to the gray part is kind of distracting.
and this need text

I was thinking the puzzle piece was flat and the blue part was slightly round, but you're right it does look kinda weird. As for type, yeah I will eventually add the name but I'm focusing on nailing down the mark first.

id say just make the 'r' a bit taller and it'll be obvious. although i know you werent trying to make it obvious.

its functional/well done either way.

Digging both, much better than the first design imo.
I don't think you need to make the second U look like a shield/lock. I understand the consistency behind it, but I think the first one brings the point accross.

much better. the second one is my favorite. im not huge on the r in the shield in the first. looks a little awkward.

Would a backwards R still be legible? Because that would kinda work better spacing wise
