When and with who do these guys sign with?

OF Yoenis Cespedes
A Scott Boras client with hefty demands. Boras literally produced a book titled "52 Reviews" that was distributed to all MLB teams thought to be interested in the 30-year old Cuban's services. The Mets are officially out of the Cespedes race while the Tigers are reportedly waiting for salary demands to fall. My guess is Cespedes is this year's Boras client that doesn't sign until we're a month from Spring Training.

OF Alex Gordon
Gordon wanted to remain in Kansas City but the Royals cannot afford anything close to market value. The White Sox are still looking for another big bat and have been linked to Gordon. It is worth noting how much of a disaster the early-30s FAs have been in recent years. See "Melvin Upton," "Josh Hamilton," and "Michael Bourn" for more information.

1B/OF Chris Davis

Crush had an offer in the $150M range from Baltimore and then he didn't. Regardless, Davis is asking for much more. The Tigers and White Sox could be in the market for Davis but not at the supposed $200M he's asking for. Detroit doesn't have the financial flexibility to swing another mega contract but a trade or two could fix that. Baltimore is maintaining a dialogue with Davis' reps.

OF Justin Upton
Upton may be the FA who ends up signing the one year deal and trying again next season. He's as streaky of a hitter as they come and his work ethic and attitude does not command the greatest reputation. Again, look for the White Sox and Tigers to show some interest when one or both teams grow tired of waiting around for Gordon, Cespedes, and Davis.

OF Dexter Fowler
Fowler will be the consolation prize to the consolation prize. Fowler declined the Cubs $15.8M qualifying offer but his postseason showed he's worth a little bit more at today's going rate. The Mets were supposedly looking into Fowler and still figure to sign an outfielder. Cuddyer's retirement just freed up another $12.5M for next season.

OF Denard Span
Span is reliable, contributing ballplayer who is victim to FA at the wrong time. He's currently buried under bigger names and may have to wait for contenders to settle before the phone rings. 2015 was decimated by nagging injury but 2013 and 2014 saw 7.4 WAR from Span. The Angels and Giants are two teams with OF needs and limited resources. Boras is reportedly only seeking a 3 year deal.

SS Ian Desmond
His poor 2015 has created a slow market for him. The Padres have shown marginal interest, as did the Mets before the Cabrera and Walker deals. His best shot may have to be marketing as more of a utility player who can handle outfield as well.

SP Scott Kazmir
Has reportedly received 3 year offer from the A's and Astros but is seeking that 4th year. The Royals, Nats, and Orioles are said to be also interested.

2B Howie Kendrick
A terrible 2015 season and 32 years of age aren't helping. The 2B market is now diminished, leaving the Dodgers and a platoon with Utley as his best option.
