http://tsn.ca/mlb/story/?id=340727For the second off-season in a row, the Boston Red Sox could be eying a Toronto Blue Jays' free agent.
According to ESPNBoston.com, the Red Sox are very interested in adding John Buck, should they be unable to come to terms with their own free agent catcher Victor Martinez.
The 30-year-old catcher made the most of his one-year deal with the Jays, hitting .281 with 20 home runs in 118 games played and being named to the All-Star Game. He also threw out 28 percent of runners trying to steal last season.
The Red Sox currently only have Jarrod Saltalamacchia and 26-year old career minor-league Mark Wagner on their 40-man roster at the position, as both Martinez and team captain Jason Varitek are on the open market.
Last off-season, the Red Sox signed shortstop Marco Scutaro to a two-year contract with a mutual option for a third after he had a breakout season with the Blue Jays in 2009.
