I can't remember who said it, but some pundit somewhere wrote, "Kurt Warner stole 2 league MVPs from Marshall Faulk."

Faulk's prime (1998 - 2001), in my opinion, was the best 4-year performance of any offensive football player, ever.

During this period (60 games), his stat line read...
1428 touches* | 9010 yards | 6.3 avg | 69 tds
*including 1 kick return for 18 yards

Compare to Barry Sanders:
1436 touches | 8122 yards | 5.6 avg | 45 tds

... or Thurman Thomas:
1398 touches | 7893 yards | 5.6 avg | 49 tds

Emmitt Smith:
1629 touches | 7921 yards | 4.8 avg | 76 tds

Eric Dickerson:
1583 touches | 7824 yards | 4.9 avg | 57 tds

... and for fun...

Jerry Rice
440 touches | 6307 yards | 14.3 avg | 58 tds

My question -- has there ever been a player as dominant over four years than Marshall Faulk was from '98 - '01?

9,000 yards? 69 touchdowns? 6.3 average? In only 60 games? That's ridiculous, man.

Faulk had an impressive stretch over 4 years, but the other guys you mentioned were just as impress over a longer time period. Faulk undoubtedly was a major part of the Rams offense during those 4 seasons, but without Warner he may have been average. (That works both ways though, without Faulk, Warner could have been average.)
