We do this on another site I'm on. Personally I don't care for it during the regular season but it actually looks nice for the postseason.
Instead of just having 1 thread for all the NFL playoffs, for example, you can have a thread for each game, and then on the index page display the playoff matchup at the top so people can click them on the index and be taken right to the game. (not sure if it's possible on IPB)
Basically each game could be set up like this:
It could obviously be adjusted to look neater, but I think it looks better and is something that is more appealing for the postseason play, for any sport.
