Free agent Plaxico Burress will be released from a New York State prison on June 6 for good behavior.
He's getting out three and a half months early. Burress, who went to prison in 2009 for pleading guilty to gun possession, will be free to sign with an NFL team immediately, commissioner Roger Goodell has confirmed. He's going to be rusty and 34 years old, but is a safe bet to get signed. ESPN's Adam Schefter suggested in late January that the Jets could have interest.

Per NBC.

Who is even going to take a look at this guy?..

I know while he was in jail, he said that he wanted to play for Pittsburgh again. I don't see that, at all.

Teams will give him a look just because of the success Vick had, and they don't wanna pass up on that type of blowup.

I am going to be surprised if a high profile team takes a shot on Plax. I mean, like you said, nobody wants to miss on the next Vick, but Plax is going to need to have some serious work ethic to get back.

I think he will find his way back into a league.
As long as he is in good shape.

Plax never had a bad work ethic, he's just always been known as a guy whos worn his heart on his sleeve and doesn't mind saying how he feels.

He'll wind up somewhere forsure.

Teams aren't going to look at him because of the potential Vick-like success, they're going to look at him because he's Plaxico Burress, the same reason people looked at Vick, because he's Michael Vick.

Yes, but with him being in jail raise the questions with everybody like "Can he come out of Jail and be effective? Does he have what it takes anymore" Teams are gonna think "Well Vick did it, so its possible, I think we should take a look on the guy".

Obviously that will go through someone's mind, not an intelligent person's, but it will.

I'm saying that's not the reason he would get a shot, he would get a shot even if Vick was still sitting behind McNabb in Philly.

Burress is also about 5 years older than Vick was when he got out of jail.
