Lions have worst odds to win 2010 Super Bowl; Patriots favored
FREE PRESS NEWS SERVICES • January 22, 2009

Super Bowl XLIII hasn’t even been played yet, but that hasn’t stopped odds makers from looking ahead.

Bloomberg news services reported Wednesday that the New England Patriots, a team that didn’t even make the playoffs this season, has been tapped by Las Vegas odds makers as the team that will win next year’s Super Bowl.

According to Las Vegas Sports Consultants, which advises casinos on betting line, the Patriots are 6-1 favorites. Pittsburgh, the team favored to win this year’s matchup on Feb. 1 in Tampa, Fla., is next at 7-1, followed by the New York Giants and Indianapolis, both at 8-1.

Detroit sports fans might be interested, but not terribly surprised, to find out that the odds of the Lions winning the 2010 NFL championship are set at 150-1. That’s good for dead last, or 32nd out of as many NFL teams.

Here are the odds:

New England Patriots 6-1
Pittsburgh Steelers 7-1
New York Giants 8-1
Indianapolis Colts 8-1
Dallas Cowboys 9-1
Baltimore Ravens 11-1
Carolina Panthers 12-1
Philadelphia Eagles 12-1
Tennessee Titans 12-1
San Diego Chargers 14-1
Arizona Cardinals 15-1
Atlanta Falcons 16-1
New Orleans Saints 18-1
Green Bay Packers 20-1
Minnesota Vikings 22-1
Miami Dolphins 25-1
Washington Redskins 25-1
New York Jets 28-1
Chicago Bears 28-1
Jacksonville Jaguars 30-1
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 35-1
Denver Broncos 35-1
Houston Texans 40-1
San Francisco 49ers 40-1
Buffalo Bills 50-1
Seattle Seahawks 60-1
Cleveland Browns 60-1
Cincinnati Bengals 75-1
St. Louis Rams 100-1
Kansas City Chiefs 100-1
Oakland Raiders 100-1
Detroit Lions 150-1

I disagree.

With the injury Brady suffered, it could take another year to get back to as good as he was.
I believe the Patriots won't be as good as they were when Brady was flying, but they won't be as bad as they were this year.

People need to get over the fact that te Patriots reign is over. They were the team of the decade, now it's over. New decade= new team to rize up. Tom Brady's career is over, get over it, even if he does come bck, i bet anything he won;t be even close to as good.

There was more problems than just Tom Brady being hurt. Laurence Maroney broke his leg and had to miss the whole season. Rodney Harrison got hurt and had to sit out aswell. They'll be so much better with Brady back. And I'm surprised to see how low Cards are in those odds. Even how old Kurt is, there still nasty.

A. Who cares about next season...being that this season isnt even over yet.

B. The Patriots are aging and will need to re-tool soon.

C. The pre-season odds to win are never right. Every season odds makers favor the two Super Bowl teams from the year prior...and I can't remember the last time odds makers were right.

You could not be more wrong. The reign is not over. They are still a dominant team in the NFL. They almost made the playoffs without Brady, the best QB to ever play, Adalius Thomas and Harrison. Yes Maroney too but I don't think that hurt them at all it may have helped them. Brady's career is not over. He is getting older but is still great. He got hurt but how can you say his career is over after a 50 TD season the year before. The injury could hurt his career but if he comes back healthy he will be great.

Yeah, if he comes back healthy, but he won't i guarantee it. Just watch, Bady will come back and he won't be the same, i dont care if he had 100 TD's the year before, that injury scarred him, as for the rest of the team, They are getting much older, as age becomes a problem, so does injuries so expect this team to crumble and next year will be worse, especially without Brady if it takes him longer to get back.
