In an interview with Percy Allen of the Seattle Times, Washington athletic director Scott Woodward had some interesting comments about Pac-10 expansion. First, he said that he believes that both the Pac-10 and the Big Ten have already reached out to not only Texas, but also Texas A&M.
"I'd be surprised if our office is not in contact with them," he said. "I'm sure those conversations have happened and are taking place."
Second, he floated the possibility of the Pac-10 taking more than two schools, and introduced the notion that when all is said and done, the six BCS conferences could be down to four.
"It could be two, four or a merger with the Big 12," he said. "There's a theory that at the end of the day there's only going to be four super conferences. Now what it's going to look like, God only knows."
Expansion talk gets more and more interesting every day.
