Mid-American Conference football players have to face certain facts:
1.) Be prepared to play any night of the week. To get the conference good exposure, MAC teams will play plenty of weekday night games.
2.) Don’t expect to ever play in a BCS game. Even after leading Miami to an 13-1 record in 2003, Ben Roethlisberger’s final game was the GMAC Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
3.) This applies to any college football program – but especially MAC schools. If you make a bowl game, be happy. Consider it an accomplishment no matter where you are playing.
This all ties in to Ohio senior Paul Hershey, a solid punter for the Bobcats who averaged just under 40 yards per punt this season. After learning the Bobcats had accepted an invitation to play in the Dec. 17 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in Boise, Hershey took to social media a shanked this tweet:
“Idaho?? Who the fuck wants to play there in December??”
