Me too.. Watching him play every day, it seems like his whole career has been a prep for the home run derby with that swing. I won't complain, it actually has gotten him a high avg this year, but I think his mentality and his swing make him a good underdog pick.

The 81st All Star Game in Anaheim will be serving youth on the mound, as Tampa Bay Rays ace David Price and Ubaldo Jimenez of the Colorado Rockies were named the starters for the midseason classic.

Price, 24, is the youngest pitcher to start an All-Star Game since 23-year-old Doc Gooden of the Mets did so for the National League in 1988 and the youngest in the AL since the Royals' Bret Saberhagen, also 23, did it in 1987.

Price is 12-4 with a 2.42 ERA and 100 strikeouts. He is one of six pitchers all-time under 25 years of age to reach 12 wins, an ERA below 2.50 and 100 strikeouts heading into the All-Star break, and the first in 25 years since Roger Clemens did so in 1986 (15-2, 2.48 ERA, 146 strikeouts).

Jimenez, 26, is 15-1 with a 2.20 ERA. The Rockies' franchise record for victories in a season is 17, shared by Jeff Francis and Pedro Astacio. Jimenez needs three wins with about 18 starts to set the new mark.
New York, NY (Sports Network) - Major League Baseball has announced three additions to the American League All-Star roster in Detroit's Justin Verlander, Jered Weaver of the Angels and Oakland's Andrew Bailey.

The trio of pitchers were named in light of MLB's new rule that recognizes any All-Star pitchers who start games on the final day before the break ineligible to participate in the Mid-Summer classic.

The Yankees' CC Sabathia and Trevor Cahill of the Athletics both started games Sunday, making them ineligible. It opened two spots for Verlander and Bailey, as Weaver also took the mound for Los Angeles Sunday ruling him out of participating.

It is Weaver's first All-Star nod, Verlander's third and Bailey's second career and second consecutive selection. Cahill and Sabathia will still attend the festivities and be fully recognized as All-Stars.

The 81st edition of the All-Star game is set for July 13 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.
Weaver ftw.

Andre Ethier is playing Center
hahahahahaha
dude can barely play RF

and Manuel said they put him there because he's played there before.
uh?
and Ethier said he hasnt played CF in 10 years

whereas Corey Hart is more athletic, and has actually played CF in the bigs before. over 50 games

hopefully Kuo and Broxton kick ass.

Wright 2-2 <3!!!!

He might be able to get All-Star MVP if he scores right now.
