Ohio State to lose Turner for 8 weeks
It most certainly did not feel like victory for Ohio State after defeating Eastern Michigan 111-60 on Saturday night at Ohio Stadium. This due to the loss of star forward, Evan Turner, who is going to be out with a broken back. Turner is not expected to return to the Buckeye's for another eight-weeks. Which in turn will lead to him missing sixteen games (over half the season). The injury was caused when Turner drove into the lane looking to make a dunk, missed it, and held on to the rim where he would later fall and land on his back.
Prior to the injury, Turner was putting up mind-boggling numbers with an average 20.6 points per game, and 12.6 rebounds. Numbers sure to raise a few eyebrows. Losing Turner was simply a nightmare moment for Ohio State who just last year experienced a situation very similar to this one when Senior, David Lighty (team captain), broke his foot early in the season and did not return.
This injury is a major blow to Ohio State (7-1)who currently stand in second place in the Big Ten trailing Purdue (7-0) by a half-a-game.
