Drayton McLane, the owner of the Houston Astros, is putting the franchise up for sale. McLane, 74, said he had retained the New York investment firm Allen and Company to help him sell the team, which he bought in November 1992 for about $117 million. Steve Greenberg, son of the Hall of Fame slugger Hank Greenberg, is the firm’s managing director.
Greenberg said McLane had not settled on an asking price, nor did he have a specific buyer in mind. But Greenberg said he had already fielded inquiries. In August, an investment group led by Nolan Ryan purchased the Texas Rangers through an unusual bankruptcy auction for $593 million — about $100 million more than its starting bid.

From what I've read around the net, McLane was a great owner, and very open, much more than most owners and probably more than any owner you'll ever meet.
Another article that talks about who he was as a person, at least from the writer's perspective.
