Luke Schenn vs Marc Staal

Both play a very similar style; defensive minded with offensive limitations, and have been compared to players such as Adam Foote before.

Who would you prefer to build your defense around?

I think Staal is better defensively, and this year he showed some flashes offensively. He is getting some PP time and I think he is one of the best defenders in the game. Schenn is good, but I feel a lot of his hype is just from playing for a Canadian team. Staal is the real deal.

I would take Staal any day. Staal has proved himself on both sides this year.

It's clear they both made big strides this year. Even Schenn improved a lot offensively, and began to get some PP time. Each of them are better at different things defensively, but I agree at this point, I would take Staal.
