"Report: Dwight Howard will consider multiple teams, is said to be most intrigued by the Rockets"

With the Lakers hoping for a swift decision from Dwight Howard on his free agency this summer, the All-Star center has given no indication he will rush the process and has privately indicated that he plans to give strong consideration to multiple teams, league sources told CBSSports.com.

Though Howard is adamant that his free agency not be marred by the circus-like environment that surrounded his departure from Orlando last summer, word already has spread to multiple levels of his support staff that Howard re-signing with the Lakers is far from a done deal.

With six weeks to go before Howard becomes an unrestricted free agent, the team that is said to intrigue him the most is the Houston Rockets, according to multiple people briefed on internal conversations surrounding Howard’s free-agent decision.

This shit is going to be another circus, I don't care what they say.

And honestly, I don't think he's a Laker next season.

Clippers Have No Interest In Pursuing Dwight Howard
The Los Angeles Clippers have no interest in pursuing Dwight Howard this offseason, according to sources.

The Clippers have been reported as a possible destination, albeit a longshot, to end up with Howard.

The Clippers do not have cap space to sign Howard while also re-signing Chris Paul, which would have forced them to complete several complicated deals in order to acquire him

We just got a center to play damn well for most of the season and the Rockets' playoff series. That said, Howard would be a significant on-court upgrade.

I'd just hate to see Asik go so soon.

Eh. Wait and see. I'd almost like to see what kind of defense could be played if we were to have both of them.

Everyone would just go small and force Asik out on stretch 4s.

It would also kill the Rockets floor spacing on offense

I'm not saying Omer would be on the floor consistently with Dwight, but not every team has a scenario where 4 out of 5 players can shoot from the outside. There'd be scenarios when they could play both. At the same time. Omer has extremely quick feet and could easily stick with some stretch fours, but certainly not the extremely quick ones.

Sources: Rockets Intrigue Dwight Howard

The Houston Rockets have emerged as an attractive free agent possibility for Dwight Howard, according to sources.

Howard became familiar with the area after spending part of two summers ago working with Hakeem Olajuwon.

Howard is also intrigued by the possibility of playing with James Harden.

Howard will engage in the free agency process and is expected to hear pitches from the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Atlanta Hawks and the Rockets.

Dwight Expressed Frustrations With D'Antoni To Kupchak

Dwight Howard expressed to Mitch Kupchak during his exit interview that he was frustrated by how Mike D'Antoni used him during his first season with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to sources.

Howard also felt marginalized by D'Antoni, feeling he looked to Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash for leadership and suggestions.

D'Antoni elected not to retain Chuck Person on his coaching staff, who is a confidant of Howard. Furthermore, Steve Clifford has become a head coaching

candidate for several NBA vacancies. Clifford was with Howard for five seasons with the Orlando Magic.

One source described the potential departure of Clifford, coupled with the loss of Person as "removing the buffers," between Howard and D'Antoni, "which is a bad thing."

Howard has been careful not to make public comments after what happened last season with Stan Van Gundy, but the situation with D'Antoni doesn't appear to be irreparable.

"It's not a, 'It's me or Mike,' situation for Dwight," said a source.

Howard is a free agent and can sign a five-year, $118 million contract with the Lakers, or up to a four-year, $87.6 million deal with a rival team that has cap space.

Howard Deciding Between Lakers, Rockets

Dwight Howard is currently torn between re-signing with the Los Angeles Lakers and joining the Houston Rockets in unrestricted free agency, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

Howard's displeasure with Mike D'Antoni became known on Tuesday in a report from ESPN. During his exit interview with Mitch Kupchak, Howard reportedly said that he was frustrated with how D'Antoni used him and that he wasn't treated like a team leader the way he did with Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash.

Near the end of the regular season, all signs had pointed toward Howard re-signing with the Lakers.

Source: Howard Also Considering Warriors
Dwight Howard is considering signing with the Golden State Warriors as well as the previously reported Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks, a source close to the player said Thursday.

According to the source, Howard's main concern involves "what team he feels has the best chance to win championships, has the best team and system around him."

Howard can't officially sign with a team until July 10, when a moratorium on NBA business is lifted.

how could the warriors even afford dwight?

they are over the cap by a lot so they'd need to do a s&t

and assuming steph and lee are off limits

its either Biedrins+RJ for Dwight+Meeks or Bogut+Rush for D12, and neither sounds like a good deal for LA

Biedrins rj and bogut are free agents next year
So it would be dwight rolling with a one year deal til next

They could trade bogut though for sure.

Right? Did I do this correctly?

he resigns with la and they trade him for rj/andris/bogut.

theyd be pretty damn nice if that happened because they already spread the floor so much.

Report: Dwight Howard to HOU gaining steam

The Rockets are getting "hopeful signals" that Dwight Howard is "seriously considering" signing with the team in free agency, sources told ESPN's Marc Stein.

We're not really sure what could be deemed a "hopeful signal," but this is the second report in under 24 hours that the Rockets are a clear challenger for the Lakers in the Dwight Howard chase. Howard has reportedly "conveyed his rising interest" in the Rockets to James Harden, but since Howard isn't technically a free agent just yet, we're taking any reports of communication with a serious grain of salt. Howard has also "made it clear" he'll listen to pitches from other interested teams, something we've known all along. Houston believes it has a "legitimate shot" at landing Howard, but Stein notes that the Lakers "haven't backed off" on re-signing Howard.

The Rockets wouldn't trade Parsons straight up for Anderson.
