No one would take Jose Fernandez or Matt Harvey over Kershaw for the next 5-10 years? Honestly, that surprises me.

Kershaw is 28, and might start to regress within a few years where Harvey/Fernandez should be solid for a long time.

Have to say Kershaw. Consistently has had great seasons for quite a while now.

And he's 27, only a year younger than Kershaw... Harvey's age is higher than his career wins total. Many people don't realize this.

Jose Fernandez just missed a whole year due to surgery (and a small sample size), while Kershaw has pitched consecutive great year after the other. He should have had another Cy Young in 2015 as well.

Matt Harvey is arguably the 2nd best SP on his own team now.

I'm not sure I wouldn't rank Harvey #4 on the Mets right now. I like Syndergaard, DeGrom and Matz better than him.
I might just take Syndergaard to build around. He's got that "mean-streak" that gives him an edge against hitters. He isn't afraid to throw inside and if a hitter shows him up, he might just wear one.

For my money it's between Kershaw and Sale. They have very similar numbers when comparing them to the same league (AKA Kershaw's AL numbers to Sale's AL numbers and vice versa for the NL).

Kershaw, even if he starts declining this year, he is still light years better than almost every other pitcher in the league. Fernandez is still coming off Tommy John, and is apparently a club house douche bag, and although he is really young and has been really good in what we have seen of him, I don't want the cornerstone of my rotation to be an asshole.

I also don't look at age, I look at innings pitched. Harvey lost an entire year.
