It is a double standard.  Slavery is long gone my friend and like I said, if it's such a sensitive, derogatory term...then stop using it to greet your buddy and take that shit out of rap lyrics.  
 
Look, I get it and believe me, I wouldn't be as dumb as Riley Cooper to say some shit like that, on camera, when I share a locker room that is predominantly black.  But I don't want to hear anyone call Riley Cooper a "racist POS" because he used the N-Word in a drunken rage.  Using the "N-word" in that situation doesn't make Riley Cooper a racist, it makes him a drunken idiot.

Also, I don't think most employers would tolerate their employees throwing up gang signs, and embracing that particular lifestyle on social media. Yes, minorities are still incredibly oppressed and persecuted against in this country...despite the fact a majority of major athletes and the President of the United States is black.

Nope...the unfortunate truth in this country is the media still targets the naive and successfully fuels this imaginary race war.  We literally live in a culture where, despite any proven facts, Travon Martin is automatically innocent and the white man is guilty.   Or how about, regardless of how fucking awful he is as Commander-in-Chief, speak out against Obama and you are a immediately labeled a racist.

At the end of the sports is entertainment. The entertainment industry plays by different rules than the financial industry, fashion industry, etc. Do musicians not promote gang culture as a representative of a billion dollar record label? It's the same idea when it comes down to it.
