New York Islanders goaltender Rick DiPietro is expected to miss the next four-to-six weeks with both facial fractures and knee swelling.

DiPietro was felled in a fight with Pittsburgh Penguins' goalie Brent Johnson on Wednesday.

DiPietro has played in 21 games with the Islanders this season, posting a 7-10-4 record with a 3.36 goals against average (GAA) and a .890 save percentage (sv%).

The 29-year-old native was the first overall selection in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. In 302 career regular season games with the Islanders, DiPietro shows a 126-127-8 record with a 2.83 GAA and a .904 save percentage.

lol, he took ONE punch...what exactly happened?
He broke his orbital bone and messed up his knee when he went down. He is probably the most injury prone player in the NHL. One punch is all it takes for him.

I feel really bad for Islanders fans, and having to live with that 15 year contract.
